According to The Telegraph, Arsenal could return for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya in the summer of 2021. It has been reported that the Gunners wanted to sign Raya in the summer of 2020 as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez, who moved to Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
Although Arsenal signed Runar Alex Runarsson from Dijon in the summer of 2020 as a replacement for Martinez, the North London club are still in the market for a back-up goalkeeper and could return for Raya, who is playing for Brentford in the Championship.
Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal and is one of the best players in the team. Runarsson is a good goalkeeper, but a player of Raya’s quality and experience will make the Gunners better between the posts. Mikel Arteta’s side are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from 16 matches.
