Arsenal linked with Martinez move

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Porto forward Jackson Martinez, according to the Express.

The Colombian World Cup star has been regularly linked with a switch to the Premier League in recent years, but now looks set to finalise a move to the Emirates Stadium after both the Gunners and the Portuguese side came to an agreement.

Martinez moved to Porto from Mexican side Chiapas in the summer of 2012, and has gone on to make one hundred and twenty appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring an impressive eighty-five goals.

He was part of the squad that won the Portuguese top flight in 2013, and will be keen to add further honours to his list this season with Porto currently sitting seven points behind Benfica with a game in hand.

Arsenal turn their attention to the Champions League on Wednesday when they face Monaco in the first leg of their last sixteen tie.
