With Gabriel picking up injury against Manchester City, Arsene Wenger has been forced to make a move for a defender as he remains short at the back with less than a week until the new Premier League season kicks off.
Knowing that Per Mertesacker is out for five months, Gunners are in great need of extra defenders now that Brazilian international Gabriel was stretched off the pitch and is unlikely to be fit for the Premier League opener against Liverpool.
Despite the fact he bolstered the ranks with Bolton’s Rob Holding this summer, Arsene Wenger is believed to be looking for a swift solution to his defensive woes and German paper Bild have presented a transfer story claiming that French manager is keen on RB Leipzig defender Lukas Klostermann.
The 20-year-old defender is unlikely to ring any bells with the Gunners’ fans, who should know that Germany international is currently in Brazil at the Olympics playing as right-back for the Mannschaft.
A versatile defender, Klostermann can play at any position in the back four and could be a good addition for the London-based club.
