Arsenal and Liverpool are set to compete for the signature of Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez, the Daily Star understands.
Both have been keeping an eye on the form of the striker who is on the verge of his international debut having been given his first England call up for the forthcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany alongside teammates Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.
The 24 year old, who has three goals in eleven league appearances so far this season, moved to St Mary’s from Burnley for £7m almost eighteen months ago and his former employers are set for a cash windfall if he makes a big money move in January or beyond.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, the Clarets had a 15 per cent sell on clause inserted on to the deal that saw him move last June.
You can back Rodriguez to score at anytime against Chile at Wembley this Friday at a price of 21/10.
