Arsenal are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window, according to talkSPORT. The report has claimed that the Gunners have approached the Villans about a potential deal for Watkins.
Villa, though, have rejected Arsenal’s initial enquiry for Watkins, but the North London outfit still maintain a strong interest in the England international. The Gunners, who have been linked with Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel, are ready to make an improved bid for the striker and would be willing to pay £60 million for him. TalkSPORT has added that Watkins himself would be open to a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, with the striker being a boyhood Gunners fan.
Watkins has been on the books of Villa since 2020 when he joined Brentford. The 29-year-old has established himself as one of the finest strikers in the Premier League. Watkins has scored 80 goals and given 34 assists in 200 appearances for Villa so far in his career.
