Arsenal and Manchester City are set to battle for the services of Leicester City centre-back Liam Moore, according to the Mirror.
The 21 year old has impressed since breaking into the Foxes first team, not least in their Championship winning 2013/14 campaign, and is set to be the subject of big money offers when the transfer window reopens in January.
City are looking to bring in more home-grown players having parted company with no less than four England internationals in the summer, albeit one of those – Micah Richards, could return once his loan spell with Fiorentina is complete.
Arsenal are drastically short in defensive numbers, and are almost certain to strengthen their backline at the next available opportunity.
Moore has been an ever present for Nigel Pearson’s side so far this season, while internationally, he scored in England U21’s 2-1 win over Croatia last week to help secure their place at next summer’s European Championships.
