Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles undergoing AS Roma medical

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles is undergoing a medical in London ahead of his move to AS Roma in the January transfer window. The well-known and well-respected Italian journalist has claimed that Maitland-Niles is in the final steps of his loan transfer to Roma.

Arsenal and Roma have already reached an agreement over a loan deal for Maitland-Niles, who can operate as a midfielder or as a full-back. Roma will pay Arsenal a loan fee of €500,000 plus €500,000 in bonuses.

Maitland-Niles has made two starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season. The England international has made two starts and one substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup for the Gunners this campaign, providing one assist in the process.
