Arsenal are ready to make a move for highly-rated Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings, according to the Daily Star.
The Gunners have been desperately short at the back after starting the season with just six senior defenders in their squad, and manager Arsene Wenger has identified the Tractor Boys prospect as the man to fill the void.
The £10m rated full-back has been monitored by Arsenal scouts, and the North London club look set to open negotiations when the transfer window reopens in January.
Having surrendered a three goal lead to eventually draw at home to Anderlecht in the Champions League last Tuesday, the Gunners let in two late goals to lose to Swansea City at the weekend – the latter result leading their manager to concede the title to leaders Chelsea with just eleven games played.
Arsenal are currently a point off a top four spot, and can now be backed at 1/2 to finish in the Champions League qualification places.
