Arsenal are interested in Newcastle United-owned Swansea City goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, according to Football.London. It has been reported that Woodman is among the goalkeepers that Arsenal are monitoring, as they look for a back-up to first-choice custodian Bernd Leno.
Woodman is on loan at Championship club Swansea from Premier League club Newcastle. The 23-year-old is playing well and regularly for the Swans, who are aiming to clinch promotion back to the top flight of English football.
The 23-year-old is unlikely to have a long-term future at Newcastle as the number one goalkeeper, and a move to Arsenal could be tempting for the Englishman. True, Leno will still be the main guy between the posts, but Arsenal are a bigger club than Newcastle, and given that they play in European competitions pretty regularly, Woodman could get chances.
