The Metro understands that Arsenal are considering a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco amid reports that he is unhappy with life at the Bernabeu.
The Spain international moved to the Spanish giants from fellow La Liga side Malaga in the summer, and has made thirty-one appearances in all competitions so far this season – with his six goals all coming in the league.
However, following speculation that he is unhappy with manager Carlo Ancelotti’s training methods an opportunity may arise for Arsene Wenger to swoop.
The Gunners boss smashed the clubs transfer record last summer by paying £42.4m to Real for Germany international Mesut Ozil, who played alongside Isco against both Real Betis and Granada before moving to North London.
Los Blancos, who currently sit second in the Spanish top flight, host Elche on Saturday afternoon, and Isco is priced at 9/2 to get the first goal of the game.
