Arsenal pushing for Pavon

Heading into the new season with a top-four finish in their agenda, Arsenal are working around the clock to construct a team capable of challenging in the Premier League.

With Arsene Wenger stepping down and the team out of the Champions League for the second consecutive season, all eyes are on the new boss Unai Emery who is lining up a list of transfer wishes.

The Gunners are said to have identified Argentina star Cristian Pavon as their primary target.

Emery is a huge admirer of Pavon’s talents and it is Argentinean media outlet AS that claims Arsenal boss will sanction another approach for the 22-year-old after seeing the initial bid worth £27 million rejected by Boca Juniors.

Pavon was the standout performer in otherwise disappointing Argentina side at the World Cup.

His reputation is still soaring high despite Los Albiceleste crashing out of the competition in Russia much earlier than anticipated.
