According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Arsenal are pushing to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. Manchester United have a strong interest in the Slovenia international too, Chelsea are believed to be monitoring the situation closely, while Leipzig want him to remain at the club. No decision has been made as of yet, but all parties want the matter resolved before the Euros start on June 14th.
The 21-year-old is tied to the Bundesliga side until 2028, but there is a release clause set at €65 million in his contract, valid until the end of the month.
Leipzig signed Sesko from RB Salzburg last summer for €24m, and in 2023/24, he scored 18 goals and produced two assists in 42 matches across all competitions.
Reports of the Gunners’ interest have been relatively frequent over the last couple of months, as they seek a new man to lead their attacking line. It’s also been said that they would be willing to listen to offers for Gabriel Jesus, who hasn’t been able to meet the expectations since his arrival from Manchester City two years ago.
