Arsenal ready to move for Sterling

The Metro understands that Arsenal are set to make a bid for Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling, with the winger no closer to agreeing a new deal at Anfield.

The Merseyside club were hopeful of securing the future of the England international, though now they are willing to listen to offers, with the winger ready to weigh up his options.

Since breaking into the Reds’ first team, the 20 year old has racked up one hundred and twenty appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty-two goals.

Internationally, he has been capped fourteen times, and he got his first goal for his country in England’s 4-0 Euro 2016 qualifying victory over Lithuania at Wembley on Friday evening.

He has withdrawn from Tuesday evening’s friendly against Italy with a toe injury, though he should be in contention to feature for his club when they travel to the Emirates to face the Gunners on Saturday afternoon.
