Arsenal are interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed that the Premier League club are willing to pay €75 million in transfer fees to secure the services of the Netherlands international midfielder from La Liga outfit Barcelona.
De Jong is out of contract at Barcelona in the summer of 2026, and the Spanish and European powerhouse are in a conundrum now. If the 27-year-old does not put pen to paper on a new deal, then Barca would have to seriously consider selling him at the end of the season. Liverpool are also reported to be interested in De Jong.
The Dutchman has been on the books of Barcelona since 2019 when he joined from Ajax. De Jong has scored 19 goals and given 22 assists in 239 appearances for Barca so far this campaign. Barcelona are at the top of the La Liga table at the moment with 54 points from 25 matches, level on points with second-placed and defending champions Real Madrid.
