Arsenal ready to spend big on Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that Arsenal are ready to spend big on the former Coventry City striker. The Sweden international has a release clause of €100 million in his contract at Sporting, and Arsenal will face competition from other clubs.

Gyokeres has been on the books of Sporting since the summer of 2023 when he joined from Coventry City. The 25-year-old has been superb for the Portuguese giants this season. The striker has scored 36 goals and given 15 assists in 42 appearances for Sporting this season. Gyokeres scored 22 goals and gave 12 assists in 50 matches in all competitions for Coventry last season.

Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 71 points from 31 matches, level on points with second-placed Liverpool. Meanwhile, Sporting currently find themselves at the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga table with 71 points from 27 matches, four points clear of second-placed Benfica, who have played 28 games.
