Arsenal readying bid for Hugo Lloris; Porto star hints at Serie A switch

Arsenal readying bid for Hugo Lloris

French newspaper L’Equipe understands that Arsenal are weighing up move for Lyon keeper Hugo Lloris.

The Gunners have done well to reinforce the attacking department, having signed Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, but Arsene Wenger is determined to continue the summer recruitment.

According to L’Equipe, Le Professor is seriously pondering a move for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The 25-year-old is looking for a new challenge after spending last four seasons at Gerland and a move to English Premier League would be a logical next step in his career.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas yesterday admitted les Gones were looking to cash in on their star player, adding fuel to speculations linking the France international with a switch to Arsenal.

The Gunners are ready to offer around €15 million for the highly rated shot-stopper, which is almost double than what les Gones paid for Lloris in 2008.

Porto star hints at Serie A switch

Porto full-back Alvaro Pereira admits he would like to continue his career in Italian Serie A.

The highly rated defender, who can also act as a midfielder, is widely tipped to leave Porto for greener pastures this summer.

The Uruguayan international was on the verge of joining Chelsea last January, but the transfer never materialized.

Alvaro Pereira is now attracting interest from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, and the player reveals Italian Serie A is his preferred destination.

“The Italian league attracts me, but I do not know what will happen,” Pereira told Sky Sport 24.

“I am in South America and I will return to Portugal to discuss my future with Porto.”

The attacking full-back has four years left on his deal with the Portuguese giants and has a €30 million release clause inserted in his contract.

Alvaro Pereira featured in 23 league games for Porto last season and scored one goal in the process.

Tottenham keeping tabs on Alan Dzagoev

The father of CSKA Moscow midfielder Alan Dzagoev has revealed that Tottenham have made an offer for the highly rated Russian.

The 22-year-old playmaker shone at the European Championship, but not even his three goals could help Russia make it to the quarter-finals.

Top European clubs showed interest in Dzagoev after he proved his potential at the biggest stage and he is now expected to leave Russia for one of the top European leagues.

The player’s father now explains that Tottenham are one of the clubs to have shown interest in the Russian international.

“I don’t know if he will stay at CSKA,” Tariel Dzagoev was quoted as saying in Daily Mail.

“There are offers; from Spurs and other clubs. But I tell him not to hurry. Yuri Zhirkov ran off to Chelsea to sit on the bench.”

The talented midfielder already has four professional seasons at CSKA Moscow behind him, and his record of 26 goals in 102 league games speaks volumes about his attacking characteristics.
