Arsenal have recalled Francis Coquelin from his loan spell from Championship side Charlton Athletic, according to the Daily Star.
The Gunners are currently suffering a defensive crisis, with Per Mertesacker their only fit centre-back so they have called upon the France U21 international to ease their woes.
Coquelin, who largely plays as a defensive midfielder but can also slot in at the back, only moved to The Valley at the beginning of last month, and racked up five appearances under Addicks’ manager Bob Peeters.
The 23 year old, who has racked up over forty appearances for Arsenal since turning professional and has also had loan spells with Lorient and Freiburg, could feature in Saturday’s match at home to Newcastle United.
Arsene Wenger’s men currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League, level on points with Alan Pardew’s side, and can be backed at 4/9 to take all three points.
