Sky Sports reports that Arsenal have declined an offer from Inter Milan to bring Shkodran Mustafi to the San Siro on loan.
Inter are reportedly interested enough in the German defender to offer another bid to bring him in on a permanent transfer.
However, the Gunners will be looking to recuperate the reported £35 million they originally spent to bring the 25-year-old Mustafi to the Emirates last season, and will most likely will not let him go for any less.
The centre back made 37 total appearances and netted two goals in his debut season with Arsenal.
New Inter boss Luciano Spalletti will be looking to fill the vacancy in the centre back position left by the departure of Jeison Murillo, who officially signed with Valencia on Friday evening.
Now the matter is whether or not the Nerazzurri are willing to spend the money Arsenal is asking for to try and bring Mustafi to Italy.
