Arsenal, Roma keen on Ruffier
French media outlet Le 10 Sport has suggested that Arsenal and AS Roma lead the chase for Saint Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.
The 28-year-old has long been considered one of France’s top shot-stoppers, and he surprised everyone by snubbing several top clubs in favour of signing a new deal at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard back in September.
However, Le 10 Sport reports that he remains on the radar of Europe’s high-profile sides, with Arsenal and Roma in the mix at the moment.
While the Gunners have signed David Ospina to provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny, the Colombian has been out injured for the majority of the current campaign, and Arsene Wenger continues to keep close tabs on Ruffier.
Meanwhile, the Giallorossi need to sign a long-term successor to veteran keeper Morgan De Sanctis and they appear hot on the trail of the France international.
Swansea eyeing Nelson Oliveira
Premier League outfit Swansea are considering a January move for Benfica striker Nelson Oliveira, according to South Wales Evening Post.
The Swans plan to recruit another centre forward in the upcoming transfer window seeing as star player Wilfried Bony will be away on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
And South Wales Evening Post has suggested that Benfica’s Nelson Oliveira has emerged as their primary target.
Swansea hope to sign the former Portugal international on a six-month loan, with a buy-out clause unlikely to be included.
Not so long ago, Oliveira was considered one of country’s hottest prospects and he made no less than 14 appearances for the Seleccao.
However, despite showing a great deal of potential during loan spells with Deportivo La Coruna and Rennes, he has failed to make a single appearance for Benfica this season and is widely expected to leave in January.
Rosicky on Olympiakos radar
Olympiakos are keeping close tabs on Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky, The Independent quoted the Greek media as saying.
The Greek giants are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements with Luka Milivojevic picking up a serious injury and Delvin Ndinga set to leave for Africa Cup of Nations.
As a result, they are showing interest in Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky and hope to recruit the veteran midfielder in the winter transfer window.
The 34-year-old has a contract until June 2016 at the Emirates, but he is eager to leave the club having been constantly overlooked by manager Arsene Wenger.
Even with a number of midfielders out on the sidelines, Rosicky has only made three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
He, nevertheless, remains an important player for the national team and has started three of four Euro 2016 qualifiers for Czech Republic.
