Arsenal are interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, according to HITC. The report has claimed that Premier League club Arsenal could be in the market for a second-choice goalkeeper, and that Patterson is on the radar of the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
David Raya is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, with Aaron Ramsdale his back up. Ramsdale started the season as the number one between the posts, but Raya is now the firm first choice. He is on loan at Arsenal from Brentford and is expected to make the move permanent. Arsenal are willing to cash in on Ramsdale at the end of the season.
HITC has reported that Arsenal watched Patterson in action for Sunderland against Bristol City at the Stadium of Light last weekend. The Championship game ended in a draw. While Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League this season, Sunderland are not going to finish in the Championship top six.
