Arsenal set to receive funds from Fabregas transfer

Chelsea will have to pay Arsenal £5m if they are to complete their expected deal for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, the Metro understands.

The Spain international, who is preparing for his sides World Cup opener against the Netherlands in Salvador tomorrow, was told that he could leave the Nou Camp two weeks ago.

The Blues are on the verge of completing the signing of the 27 year old, with an announcement expected in the next few days.

The Gunners declined the change to re-sign the player who they sold back to the Catalan club three years ago, though they are set to receive some money if and when the transfer goes through.

Fabregas was part of the squads that won the European Championships in both 2008 and 2012, and the World Cup in 2010, and the holders can be backed at a generous price of 6/1 to be victorious in Rio De Janiero on July 13th.
