At this point it is more a matter of when, not if, Alexis Sanchez will leave Premier League giants Arsenal. The Chilean international has been linked with PSG, Bayern Munich and even Real Madrid over the past few months, but now the Gunners’ top flight rivals Manchester City are set to make a significant bid.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly changed his tune regarding a January bid for Sanchez, mainly due to the recent injury to Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus. The Cityzens will now test the waters with a bid, according to the Evening Standard, but Arsenal are keen to get £40m for their star winger.
City currently lead the league by 15 points over their eternal rivals Manchester United, and the addition of Sanchez to their already stacked squad would make them an even more frightening prospect. In order to maintain their hold on the title however, a big statement in January could well be needed, and if more injuries strike Guardiola will need a deep squad.
