According to a recent report from ESPN, Arsenal look set to hold crunch talks with Alexandre Lacazette as rumours continue to swirl regarding the club’s interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
Lacazette’s contract at the Emirates is set to run out in June 2022, and he’s been linked with a move to Atletico for around £60 million. With that kind of fee, the Gunners will likely go in search of a deal for Partey – leading some to believe the two clubs will come together in order to agree on a swap of some kind.
It’s been a hot and cold sort of tenure in North London for Lacazette, and while the future under Mikel Arteta may be uncertain, you’d have to imagine that Arsenal fans will always have a special place in the folklore of the club for Lacazette.
One thing is for sure – it’s going to be an incredibly busy few months.
