According to a recent report from A Bola, Arsenal are set to make an offer today that will see them trigger the release clause of Sporting Lisbon star Joelson Fernandes. His release clause is currently set at €45 million, and the club are more than willing to pay that in order to not only get the deal done, but ensure he doesn’t sign for the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 17-year-old has been called the next Cristiano Ronaldo by some, and yet while that is clearly a flattering comment to make, you’d have to imagine he will also want to carve out his own path before all of those talks commence.
The Gunners are set to be busy during the upcoming summer transfer window, and it does appear as if Mikel Arteta is going to try and invest in a youth movement as the club continues to rebuild.
