Premier League giants Arsenal are set to challenge Europa League holders Sevilla for the signature of Marseille starlet Bilal Boutobba, Estadio Deportivo can reveal.
The 17-year-old has rejected a new contract offer at Stade Velodrome, meaning he is free to negotiate a Bosman deal with interested sides.
Boutobba revealed few weeks ago that while he was perfectly happy with the financial offer, he decided to leave Marseille due to the lack of a sporting project.
Having shown a great deal of potential playing for club’s youth sides as well as France’s youth teams, the attacking midfielder will have no problems finding new employers.
And while Sevilla were long believed to be leading the chase for Bouttoba, the latest reports suggest that Arsenal are keen as well.
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly a big fan of the youngster, who was handed his first team debut by Marcelo Bielsa, and he will attempt to lure the winger to the Emirates in the summer.
