Arsenal show interest in Sarr

According to a recent report in France, Premier League side Arsenal have begun talks with Rennes over the possible signing of Ismaila Sarr. The 21 year old winger featured in the 3-1 win over the Gunners last week, even scoring the third goal against the club. It’s not unknown for teams to go after players they’ve actually played against, with a famous example being when Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo after their game against Sporting Lisbon.

Sarr, who is a Senegal international, made the jump over to Rennes from Metz back in 2017. Since then he’s been able to establish himself as one of the most effective wingers in the French league, and it still seems like he’s got a lot of growing left to do – which can only be a good thing.

Arsenal were able to turn their first leg deficit around last night, as they defeated Rennes 3-0 to progress into the quarter finals of the Europa League.
