According to a recent report from Goal, Arsenal have confirmed a deal to sign one of the hottest young stars in Brazilian football today. The forward Gabriel Martinelli, who is 17 years of age, is set to make the switch over to North London from Ituano FC. He will not require a work permit, thankfully, as he currently has an Italian passport.
Arsenal have been scouting him for quite a few months now and are believed to have beaten competition from several different clubs on the way to landing his signature. The Gunners have made it known that they are very much in the market for a number of top stars during the upcoming summer transfer window, especially if they’re going to be competing in the Champions League next season.
Of course, you need some stars for the future to go alongside that, and it certainly seems like Martinelli is going to be a big player if he develops as many are anticipating.
