Auxerre hotshot Yaya Sanogo has agreed to join Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer, reports L’Equipe.

It is no secret the Gunners have been keeping close tabs on the talented forward and they seem to have won the race for the player’s signature.

L’Equipe understands that Sanogo has agreed a four-year deal in principle with the Premier League outfit.

The 20-year-old’s deal with Auxerre is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and he was not interested in renewing his contract.

Despite his fragile age, the forward has already shown a great deal of potential, scoring 9 goals in just 11 Ligue 2 matches this season.

Sanogo is a member of France Under-21 side and he was also followed by Moncao, Lille, Lyon and Saint Etienne.

Lazio eye Gelson Fernandes

Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Lazio are keen on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Gelson Fernandes.

Boss Vladimir Petkovic is eager to sign another holding midfielder to provide competition for Cristian Ledesma, who has featured in almost 50 games this season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, former Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes is one of the players he is looking at.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Sion and Sporting chiefs are prepared to cash in on him in the summer provided the price is right.

Fernandes has a contract until June 2016 at Estadio Jose Alvalade and a €25 million release clause, but he should be available for a lot less.

The Switzerland international already has some Serie A experience, having enjoyed loan spells with Chievo Verona and Udinese.

Groningen hotshot confirms PSV interest

Groningen defender Virgil van Dijk has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer move away from the club.

The 21-year-old has been in scintillating form this season and has caught the eye of several high-profile clubs.

Groningen officials now face a battle on their hands to keep hold of their prized asset, who admits he is aware of the growing interest in his services.

“There is contact with a number of clubs and PSV are one of them,” Van Dijk explained to De Telegraaf.

Van Dijk only made his first team debut in May 2011, but he needed just two years to develop into one of the best central defenders in Dutch Eredivisie.

He has clocked up 61 league appearances for Groningen and scored 7 goals in the process. The defender was recently handed his debut for Netherlands Under-21 side.

Van Dijk, who came through the youth ranks at Groningen, seems to have set his sights on leaving the Euroborg outfit and it would appear as though PSV Eindhoven are leading the chase at the moment.
