Arsenal will play Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 in what will be a replay of the 2006 final in Paris, which Barca won 2-1.
The draw pits the leaders of each group at the conclusion of the first stage with a team who finished second.
Arsenal finished second in Group H and will now meet Spanish champions Barcelona, the Group D winners, for a place in the quarter-finals.
Group A winners Tottenham will take on 2007 champions AC Milan, while Manchester United will play the French champions Marseille.
Chelsea face a tricky assignment against FC Copenhagen, and reigning European champions Inter Milan play their opponents in last year’s final, Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid play French outfit Lyon, Ukrainian’s Shakhtar Donetsk meet Italian heavyweights Roma, and Spaniards Valencia meet Group B table-toppers Schalke.
