Arsenal have moved to the front of the queue to sign Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas from Real Madrid, according to Sport.
The Gunners are ready to offer the experienced goalkeeper a five-year contract worth €9 million per campaign, but they hope the player can agree a mutual termination of his deal at Santiago Bernabeu and join on a free transfer.
And with Keylor Navas set to arrive at the club, Casillas is desperate to leave los Blancos for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Even if the player has another three years left on his contract at Real Madrid, it is believed that president Florentino Perez is ready to consider allowing the goalkeeper to leave on a free transfer.
Iker Casillas, 33, has been a loyal servant to the club having spent his entire career up to date at Santiago Bernabeu, winning five La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.
