Arsenal in talks for Rabiot; Marseille agree Yanga-Mbiwa loan

hot-transfer-newsArsenal in talks for Rabiot

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Arsenal have established initial contact with Paris Saint-Germain for talented midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The Gunners have been keeping close tabs on the 19-year-old for a while now, and they decided to act after AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur made their moves.

Arsenal officials took advantage of yesterday’s Champions League draw in Monaco to meet with their PSG counterparts and it is believed the two sides are close to reaching an agreement.

The Saints want between €10m and €12m for the player whose current deal at Parc des Princes is due to expire next summer.

Rabiot is determined to leave PSG in search of first team football, but it remains to be seen whether he would be interested in a switch to Arsenal since he would have a tough time trying to nail down a regular starting berth at the Emirates.

Paris Saint-Germain play host to Saint Etienne on Sunday, and the Saints have been made 8/15 favourites to claim maximum points.

Marseille agree Yanga-Mbiwa loan

Daily Mail is reporting that Newcastle defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is set to join Marseille on a season-long loan.

The French giants are in need of defensive reinforcements as new boss Marcelo Bielsa has switched to a three-man defence and they are on the verge of signing the former Montpellier star.

According to the Daily Mail, Marseille have all but agreed a season-long loan for Yanga-Mbiwa with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old joined the Magpies as a big-name signing in January 2013, but he has failed to live up to the billing at St James’ Park.

Yanga-Mbiwa went on to make 37 Premier League appearances while also featuring in 6 Europa League fixtures.

The France international now looks set to return to Ligue 1 in an attempt to get his career back on track.

Olympiakos close on Insua

Greek giants Olympiakos are reportedly on the verge of signing Argentine defender Emiliano Insua from Atletico Madrid, reports A Bola.

The Kokkinoi seem to be preparing for life without Jose Holebas and they see the former Liverpool full-back as a good long-term replacement.

A Bola understands they are set to agree a deal for Emiliano Insua, although it remains to be seen if it will be a loan or an outright transfer.

The Argentine is one of three players that have permission to leave Vicente Calderon this summer, together with Toby Alderweireld and Cristian Rodriguez.

Emiliano Insua has largely struggled to prove his worth at Atletico Madrid having joined from Sporting Lisbon in January 2013.

The 25-year-old has since managed just 9 La Liga appearances and is now third-choice left-back behind Guilherme Siqueira and Cristian Ansaldi.
