Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer move away from the club.
One of France’s top holding midfielders has seen his name linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs, including Arsenal and Barcelona, and it appears he will be leaving le Tefece this summer.
The midfielder, who is currently on international duty with France, has confirmed that he wants to leave Toulouse to join a top European club.
“I feel it is time to leave, to play in major competitions,” the 24-year-old confessed to L’Equipe.
“We’ll talk after 10th June and the end of (international) tour.”
Etienne Capoue is the product of Toulouse youth school and he nailed down a regular starting berth some five years ago.
He has made a total of 170 Ligue 1 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals in the process.
Capoue has enjoyed his best season yet, scoring 7 goals in 34 league matches, while also registering a goal for France in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Belarus.
