Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue is nearing a switch to Monaco, French newspaper L’Equipe has revealed.
The France international has said on numerous occasions that he is looking to leave le Tefece at the end of the current campaign and he was widely tipped to join Arsenal.
Everton and Paris Saint-Germain have also been showing interest in the midfielder, but L’Equipe reports that Monaco have moved to the front of the queue.
According to the same source, the player’s agent Mino Raiola is currently in talks with Monaco as the Principality club hope to lure Capoue to Stade Louis II.
Toulouse chiefs are reportedly holding out for €15 million for the player whose contract is due to expire in June 2015, but Monaco should have no problems meeting the asking price.
Etienne Capoue, 24, has enjoyed his most productive season up to date, scoring 7 goals in 34 Ligue 1 matches.
