Blackburn defender Chris Samba has caused a big stir among Rovers fans by admitting that he wanted to join Arsenal.
The Gunners are keen on the towering centre-back and are willing to pay £12million for the Blackburn captain.
Rovers are still hoping to keep hold of their star player, but Samba has now called for club chiefs to allow him a move to Arsenal.
“I know talks are taking place with certain clubs,” Samba said.
“I’ve been to Blackburn for four and a half years and I’ve been fighting against relegation in two of those seasons.
“If a good opportunity comes up for me I want to take it. The club has to understand that I want to step up a level.
“I hope that they would not put a spanner in the works for me.”
