Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno has emerged as one of the hottest transfer stories in Germany.
The talented shot stopper is reportedly ready to quit Bayer Leverkusen after seven years and more than 290 competitive matches but will only move to a club where he would be guaranteed a starting spot.
Serie A high-flying side Napoli have emerged as frontrunners for his signature knowing that their current No.1 Pepe Reina is leaving the club at the end of the season. Partenopei were already linked with Leno in the summer of 2017 and are now prepared to step up their efforts to sign the 26-year-old.
German media outlet Bild reports that stuttering Arsenal are also willing to join the chase for Leno, however.
Gunners are looking for a long-term successor of Petr Cech and a custodian who would increase competition for a place in goal, knowing that David Ospina is likely to leave the Emirates club at the end of the current campaign.
