Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso has enjoyed a brilliant spell of form at the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
The Madrid-born defender is a huge presence at the back while he is also an attacking threat and a vital presence in the final third, which are all attributes that make him a vital cog in Espanyol’s machine this term.
Having helped his team reach the second spot in La Liga in the early stages of the campaign with two goals in 11 appearances, Mario Hermoso has been rewarded for his flying form by Luis Enrique who served him a call-up to the national team.
The 23-year-old defensive star has been turning plenty of heads lately and it appears he could be well on his way out of Espanyol sooner rather than later.
The Real Madrid product is being linked with a return to Los Blancos – who are said to have an option to buy the player for €7.5 million – but Marca is stating that Arsenal are also keeping an eye on the Espanyol defender.
Unai Emery is said to be a huge admirer of Hermoso’s talents and will be willing to throw a challenge in an attempt to bring the defender to England.
