According to Football Transfers, Real Madrid are interested in signing William Saliba from Arsenal next summer, but the Gunners have no intention of accepting any offers for the France defender.
Real are still considering their options when it comes to adding a young, high-quality central defender to their ranks after losing the race for Leny Yoro to Manchester United. They have been credited with interest in RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba, 21, and are believed to have sent scouts to watch him perform against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last week. But having established himself as a regular starter at Arsenal and one of the best in his positions in the Premier League, Saliba obviously represents a more “upmarket” option.
However, for that precise reason, Arsenal are adamant that they will not be entering any negotiations over selling Saliba, regardless of the sum they may be offered. With his contract running until 2027, they are in a strong position to take such a stance, but it remains to be seen if Saliba himself starts pushing for a transfer with the prospect of joining Real Madrid on the horizon.
