Arsenal are considering a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul, the Express understands.
The Gunners were on the lookout for a new shot stopper during the summer, eventually bringing in Italy international Emiliano Viviano from Palermo.
However, the club are expected to once again delve into the market once the transfer window reopens in January, and Dutch international Krul is top of their list of targets.
The North London club were linked with a number of keepers in the close season, such as Pepe Reina, Asmir Begovic and Juilo Cesar as they looked to bring in competition for Polish duo Wojciech Sczcesny and Lukasz Fabianski.
AC Milan have also been linked with the Newcastle number one, though it is the Premier League leaders who appear to be the front runners to secure his services.
Arsene Wenger’s men tightened their grip on top spot in their Champions League group with victory against Napoli on Tuesday evening, and are now 18/1 to win the competition for the first time in their history.
