Arsenal to move for Porto’s Fabio Vieira?

Arsenal are preparing to move for FC Porto’s Fabio Vieira next summer, according to Portuguese outlet Record.

Freshly promoted from Porto’s B team this summer, the 20-year-old had made 12 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal. Transfermarkt has him valued at €7 million at the moment, but his contract, which expires in the summer of 2022, apparently contains a release clause set at no less than €30m.

Mikel Arteta’s team are currently struggling, sitting 15th in the Premier League with Arteta’s job under more pressure by the day, and one of the things they’ve been missing on the pitch recently is a creative attacking midfielder, one who can split opposition defences with smart passing and create chances on a regular basis. However, it’s doubtful a player with as little experience as Vieira, who isn’t related to Arsenal legend Patrick, can be anything else than part of a future project for them.

Apart from Arsenal, Olympique Marseille are also believed to be interested.
