Arsenal will be playing in Europa League once again. The final against Chelsea on Wednesday night was a perfect chance for the Gunners to return to the Champions League by winning a European trophy, but Unai Emery’s side was stuck against a relaxed Chelsea, whose 4-1 victory came unexpectedly easy in the second half.
And now that there will be no Champions League football, Arsenal are reportedly ready to get rid of Mesut Ozil, after a horrific season at the Emirates. The German was disappointing throughout the campaign and the final in Baku was no different. However, the problem for Arsenal’s plans of selling Ozil could be the player’s wages.
The Gunners are open to selling the German playmaker, but his £350,000-per-week wages are a huge obstacle to any move. According to Daily Mail, Arsenal would be prepared to pay some of his wages at his new club, in order to make it an easier prospect of selling him.
