Remember former Atletico Madrid player Arda Turan? Well Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde doesn’t seem to, despite the fact that the Turkish international is currently a Blaugrana player. Turan is yet to play a single minute in La Liga this season, but he could be the subject of a stunning swap deal, according to Spanish publication Marca.
Reports suggest that Arsenal are interested in the midfielder, and whenever the Gunners are mentioned in a transfer article you can be sure it will involve Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez. Barcelona want the former, and would be more than happy to swap Turan for the German maestro.
The Turk was a crowd favourite during his time at Atletico Madrid, but a move to Barcelona seemed to send his career in a downward spiral. With Arsenal offering a way out of Catalonia, it would be no surprise if the player was to jump at the chance, especially if the move would earn him more game time.
With the North London club needing to get anything they can for Ozil in January, obtaining Turan could be a decent deal that would suit both clubs.
