Arsenal are interested in signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton in the summer, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners are apparently resigned to losing the services of Alexandre Lacazette, whose contract expires at the end of the season, and they see Calvert-Lewin as a great option for a long-term replacement for the experienced French striker.
Meanwhile, there can be little doubt about the fact that Calvert-Lewin is a very important player for the Toffees, and manager Rafa Benitez, currently under pressure due to a string of poor results, has made it clear he will fight hard to keep hold of the players he’s counting on.
The 24-year-old striker is currently out with a fractured toe and hasn’t played since the first international break this season. With him out of action, Everton have won only one of the 11 Premier League matches played. Further more, Calvert-Lewin is contracted to the club until the summer of 2025, which puts the Merseysiders in a strong negotiating position, should Arsenal take concrete steps towards a transfer.
