Arsenal are refusing to contemplate parting ways with Lucas Torreira amid interest from AC Milan, according to Sky Sports and their sources in Italy.
Milan have been looking to return to the paths of former glory for some time now, with the likes of Juventus and Napoli on top of the ladder in the Serie A in recent years. Their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League has resulted in now former manager, club legend Gennaro Gattuso, losing his job. Marco Giampaolo is on his way from Sampdoria to take his place, and it seems he is keen on bringing Torreira, among others, to Italy.
However, Arsenal are prepared to do what it takes to hold off any interest from any club when it comes to the Uruguay international, having only signed him last summer for £26 million from Sampdoria where he played under Giampaolo.
Milan have also been heavily linked with Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren recently.
