Arsenal want Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz in January

Arsenal are interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The Brazil international midfielder is out of contract at Villa at the end of the season, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to take advantage of this situation and bring him to the Emirates Stadium in January.

The report has claimed that Arsenal were keen on securing the services of the former Manchester City prospect in the summer transfer window and made an offer of £25 million for him. However, the Villans did not accept it, as they did not want to sell him.

Luiz has made two starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season, scoring one goal in the process. The Brazil international midfielder made 31 starts and three substitute appearances in the league for Steven Gerrard’s side last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process.
