According to reports in Italy, Arsenal are interested in signing Porto midfielder Hector Herrera. The 28 year old is out of a contract in the summer, which would fit perfectly for the Gunners given what manager Unai Emery announced earlier today.
The Spaniard revealed that Arsenal are only going to be focusing on loan deals during the January transfer window, which infuriated a large part of the fanbase. Alas, if Emery has been able to prove anything throughout the course of his time at the Emirates, it’s that he can do some great things in the transfer window when all seems lost.
Herrera joined Porto back in 2013 from Pachuca, and is also known for being a consistent member of the Mexican national team.
Arsenal are currently battling it out for a place in the top four with Chelsea and Manchester United, and there’s a chance that this deal could hinge on whether or not they can break back into the Champions League.
