Arsenal want to sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. Maitland-Niles, who can operate as a full-back or as a midfielder, was not included in the Arsenal squad for the Premier League game against Leicester City on Saturday, and it has now emerged that the Gunners want to sell him.
Maitland-Niles has been on the books of Arsenal since 2003 and has come through the club’s youth academy. However, the England international has failed to establish himself in the first team and has been out on loan at Ipswich Town, West Bromwich Albion and AS Roma in recent seasons.
It does not look like Maitland-Niles has a future at Arsenal, and at the age of 24, it would be better for him if he finds a new club which he can call home and where he will have a stable career. The Englishman has scored one goal and created five big chances in 87 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
