Arsenal want to sign Joao Palhinha from London and Premier League rivals Fulham in the January transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that the Gunners have identified Palhinha as a potential alternative to Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa.
Villa value Luiz at £110 million. That is too expensive for Arsenal, who paid an initial £100 million in transfer fees for Declan Rice when they signed him from West Ham United in the summer of 2023. So, Arsenal are looking at Palhinha as a potential alternative.
Football Transfers has reported that Arsenal could get Palhinha for £50 million. The 28-year-old is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and has played 24 times for Portugal. Palhinha has made 12 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Fulham so far this season. He has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.
