Arsenal are interested in signing Arthur Melo from Juventus in the January transfer window, according to Goal. It has been reported that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking into the possibility of bolstering his midfield due to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny going away to the Africa Cup of Nations.
And, according to Goal, Arthur is one of the players Arsenal are looking into signing in the middle of the season to enhance their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League. The Gunners have reportedly held talks with Italian giants Juventus over the transfer of the 25-year-old in the January transfer window.
Arsenal want to sign the Brazil international midfielder on loan until the end of the season. Juventus are willing to let Arthur go, but the former Italian champions want to sign a replacement first. The 25-year-old has made three starts and four substitute appearances in Serie A and has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Champions League for Juventus so far this season.
