Arsenal want to sign Martin Zubimendi in January

Arsenal are interested in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen on recruiting a top defensive midfielder in the middle of the season, and that Zubimendi is a player that the North London club could try to bring to the Emirates Stadium.

Fichajes has claimed that Arsenal have been monitoring Zubimendi for a while now and have been impressed with what they have seen of him. The Spain international defensive midfielder has a release clause of €60 million in his contract at Sociedad. The report has noted that Barcelona and Liverpool have also been keen on Zubimendi.

Zubimendi has been on the books of Sociedad since 2011 and has established himself in the first team after coming through La Real’s youth system. The 25-year-old has scored one goal and given one assist in 12 starts and one substitute appearance in La Liga and has played three times in the UEFA Europa League so far this season.
