Arsenal are scouting Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet, French daily L’Equipe has revealed.
The highly rated midfielder is enjoying his best ever season, and has so far managed to attract interest from a number of Premier League sides.
The 24-year-old has been followed by Newcastle for a while now, but it appears that the Magpies could face a stiff competition for the player’s signature.
According to L’Equipe, Arsenal are also interested and they could make an official bid come end of the season.
The same source claims that Gunners had the player watched this Sunday as Dijon played host to Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal’s French scout Giles Grimandi attended the game and saw Corgnet set up Steven Paule for Dijon’s only goal of the game.
French midfielder has only created two goals for his teammates this season, but he managed to score no less than 8 goals in 25 Ligue 1 games.
